The ginguang bik is a double-skin cylindrical drum that belongs to the family of the gingaung. It is approximately 35 to 40 cm long and has a diameter of 25 cm. This drum is struck with a drumstick in one hand and the other hand is used to gently damp the membrane. The tension in the two membranes is adjusted by loosening or tightening the ropes. The ginguang bik looks very similar to the gungon of the Dagomba. The ginguang bik produces a clear sound and is well suited to playing the middle register. It is also related to the gingana of the Mamprusi.
